With all this time at home, I feel like I’ve been discovering so much new music and have had so many songs on repeat! Not only have I been listening to music nonstop, but I’ve also been listening to some podcasts as well to really mix it up. Since the last music post, I’ve created some new playlists that I’ve listened to nonstop and I’d love to share with you 🙂
Podcasts
The Health Code
This past week, I’ve been trying to listen to podcasts more often instead of just listening to music while I’m doing things around the house. One of my absolute favorite YouTubers, Sarah’s Day, has a podcast called The Health Code with her fiancé Kurt, and although I’ve listened to it here and there since they started, I’ve devoted more time to listen to them recently and I forgot how much I enjoyed it! It gets me really inspired and motivated about life. They basically talk about everything, from fitness to career to healthy living and relationships, everything that I love. I’m going to try to catch up on all of their episodes because I’ve been obsessed!
Albums
Childish Gambino- 3.15.20
Childish Gambino just came out with a new album late March, and it’s so good! It’s only 50-minutes and I wish it was longer, but it’s really easy to listen to from start to finish. Donald Glover is probably one of the most talented humans in the entire world, and I love him! My favorite songs from the album would have to be “Time” and “24.19.” I’ve also been playing some more of his songs on repeat like “Redbone,” “Sweatpants” and “3005.”
The 1975- Basically All 3 of Their Albums
The 1975 is my all time favorite band, and this past week especially, I’ve listened to a lot of their songs. I wouldn’t say that I’ve listened to all of their albums from start to finish, but I have gone through each of their albums and repeatedly played my favorites. From their first album The 1975, my favorites have been “So Far, It’s Alright” and “Undo.” From their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, ForYou Are So Beautiful, Yet So Unaware of It, I’ve had “A Change of Heart” and “Somebody Else” on repeat! And lastly, from their latest album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, “Love It If We Made It” and “I Like America & America Likes Me” have always been some of my favorites I have to listen to pretty much daily. Of course I like so many more songs of theirs, but that could probably be a blog post in and of itself!
My Playlists on Spotify
spring beats
This past month I’ve added a lot of new songs on my Spotify account, almost too many honestly! It was hard to keep track and listen to all of the new songs, so I created this playlist with some of my favorite songs I’ve discovered this early spring. Some songs on here include “The Memory of You” by Swi7, “Nice Guy” by courtship, and “The Difference” by Flume. Once the spring time starts I love listening to DJ’s and electronic music, and there’s a lot of that genre on this playlist!
Love at First Beat <3
Recently I had been going through my Spotify to listen to songs that I added years ago, and I had the idea to create a playlist of songs that I loved within seconds of first hearing it. There’s a lot of songs on this playlist, but it’s fun because it brings me back to the first time I listened to that particular song! Some songs on here include “Super Far” by LANY, “Into the Dark” by Khai, “Superposition” by Young the Giant, and “Bury Us” by The Naked and Famous.
Songs on Repeat
“People, I’ve Been Sad”- Christine and the Queens
I had shazamed “Comme Si” by Christine and the Queens a while ago, and it was because of that song that it introduced me to more songs of hers and I’ve been obsessed with this song ever since. I have to listen to it every single day it’s so good!
“Christine”- Christine and the Queens
I never thought I could love a song so much that I have no earthly idea what they’re saying, but I do! This song is completely in French, and I absolutely love it! The beat is amazing, and there is an English version called “Tilted,” but I’m devoted to this version of the song. Maybe one day I’ll know what she’s actually saying, but it inspires me to learn French!
“Sanctuary”- Joji
I knew of Joji because I like his other song “Window,” and once I shazamed this, it has become one of my new favorite songs from this past month. I love his style!
“Maniac”- Conan Gray
I was on YouTube one day when I got an ad for Conan Gray, and I looked up his stuff and found this song and it’s so good! I can’t get enough of it.
“Pushing”- Cushy
One of the YouTubers I follow had this song in one of her videos, and I’ve been listening to it nonstop ever since. It has such a sick beat, and I wish it was a longer song!
And that is all that I’ve been listening to these past few weeks! It’s mostly been music, but I’ve been really inspired to start listening to more podcasts. I used to listen to Matt D’Avella’s a lot, but I jumped off the podcast train for a while, but now I’m back on! I forgot how inspiring and motivating they are. Thanks for stopping by, hope you guys are listening to some good music and podcasts to get you through this time <3
