Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! It’s hard to believe that we are now halfway through the month of February. These past few weeks have seemed like an entire year in and of itself, but sure enough, it’s Valentine’s Day. The day that you get to go above and beyond and showcase how much you love someone. Or it’s that dreadful, tacky day that you don’t really care that much for. Why is it even a holiday?! For me, I guess I’m somewhere in the middle. I honestly haven’t cared much for it these past couple of years. There’s just been nothing going on to make it special. Hence, yea I’ve been single. But it’s nothing I’m ashamed of, ok maybe I was in the past, but not anymore.
I don’t see anything wrong with wanting to show the person you love how much they mean to you, but let’s just hope they don’t do that just because it’s a special occasion and it’s what’s expected. This year I might be without a valentine, but that’s totally fine by me. I don’t feel less of myself, it’s just not my time. I look forward to in the future when hopefully there will be someone who could “be mine,” but I don’t resent that not happening now. I think the most important thing to do on Valentine’s Day if you are single is to not dwell on the fact that you are single. It feels like Valentine’s Day is the day that all the single people out there are ashamed and asking what is wrong with themselves. Ok, maybe not everyone, but you get what I mean. Today is the day to really check your thoughts and where they lead you. Are you happy your single? Resentful? I think it’s a good day to check where you are mentally. If those resentful thoughts creep in then, don’t let them take power over you! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you, and I’m not allowing you to think that way. And if you are totally not affected by this day, right on!

Oh yea, and random thought. You know that picture I used for today’s feature image? Yea, that was taken December 24th. Is that flipping ridiculous or what?! Who wants to put Valentine’s Day candy in their stocking!?! Crazy. Ok, bye again!
