Trying Matcha Tea Powder Recipes

Trying Matcha Tea Powder Recipes

I had intended to post this on Monday, but last week was one of the busiest weeks and weekend ever, which meant trying new recipes was especially hard. I’ve mentioned matcha a couple of times on here, and this past week I decided to utilize my matcha tea powder and try out different recipes, instead of just using it for my go-to iced matcha latte. I had originally planned on trying out 5 recipes because 5 sounds like a nice number, but I only got to do 4. Avocados man, they go bad so fast!

Note: With another recipe trying blog post I also have to make the disclaimer that for all these recipes I substituted the milk ingredient with my favorite plant milk…ok, now let’s get back to the post!

Vanilla Matcha Protein Smoothie

Recipe From – Daily Burn

I was excited to try matcha in one of my smoothies, and I’m shocked I hadn’t tried it before now! One of the easiest recipes ever, and this smoothie ended up being really good! The vanilla protein and the banana were a little more dominating ingredients, so I only get a hint of that matcha flavor, but it was delicious overall! I really enjoyed this smoothie though, I just may have to cut back on how much vanilla protein I use to taste the matcha. But overall, A+!

Matcha Overnight Oats

Night Before
After

Recipe From – Choc and Juice

I’ve never tried doing overnight oats before, so this was a first for me! I must say, this recipe is one that might have to end up in my staples. It was ridiculously easy! I wasn’t sure if it would be filling, but it is. I’m not much of a breakfast eater, so I ended up having this as a little snack before lunch. The recipe calls for rice syrup, and while I didn’t have that ingredient, I substituted honey and it worked very nicely! As opposed to the smoothie recipe, the matcha flavor was prominent in this recipe and it tasted delicious with the blueberries on top!

Matcha Chia Seed Pudding

Night Before
After

Recipe From – Daily Burn

Not only have I never done overnight oats, but I’ve never attempted chia seed pudding! Chia seeds are a great source of fiber, and when I was looking for recipes this one intrigued me! I split the recipe in half because it said it served 2, and that ended up working out perfectly for feeding just myself. The recipe also said that you can put it in the fridge for three hours and it will be ok to eat, or you can just stick it in the fridge to leave it overnight, and that’s what I ended up doing. I ate it as a lunch dessert the next day, and topped it with some more blueberries, which really is the perfect combo!

Matcha Mug Cake

I know what you’re thinking, green cake? Don’t knock it till you try it!

Recipe From – Kirbie’s Cravings

I don’t know if you’ve ever tried the Duncan Ines Mug Cakes, but those are what made me get on the mug cake train back in college! They are so delicious and so easy to make if you want a simple dessert. So when I found this mug cake recipe with matcha, I knew I had to try it! Just think of your basic cake ingredients like flour and sugar, add some matcha, and that’s how easy this recipe is!

I always like to taste test when mixing the batter all together, and the batter to this recipe is delicious! When it was finally done cooling down after being heated up in the microwave, I couldn’t wait to dive into this sweet treat! It’s got a refreshing taste to it with the matcha, and I think because I used plant milk instead of regular milk it wasn’t as dense as a typical cake, but it’s still pretty good nonetheless! It wasn’t very sweet, but I didn’t really mind that much! They say in the recipe to just add more sugar if you want a little extra sweetness. I’d love to put some kind of frosting on this though, maybe crème cheese frosting? That would sound amazing because after a few bites it did feel a little dry. The flavor was delicious though, I may have just have to try regular milk next time!

And those are all the recipes I tried! I think I found some real gems here that I’m going to have to start making more often! I’ll link the articles where I found these recipes below! I’ve really enjoyed trying new recipes and posting about them on here. It makes me want to do it more often! Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great weekend!
