I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but it feels like within the past two years there’s been a lot of attention on using cleaner deodorants that don’t include bad ingredients like aluminum. Some people don’t care, but some people do! I’m all about using clean ingredients and products, so I guess you could put me in the category of caring about what I put in and on my body. A couple of months ago, I finally ended up giving the Native deodorant a try, and once that was all used up, I went and got the clean deodorant from Kopari. There are multiple other clean deodorants out there, but these were the two that I heard that actually worked. If you want to know which one I liked best, then keep reading!
I was really interested in trying the Native brand because it seemed like everywhere people were talking about how amazing of a deodorant it was. So when picking out a new deodorant last year, I splurged and tried it out. The first few weeks were interesting to say the least. I felt like I was sweating way more than usual and just felt gross and smelly underneath my arms. I’ve never experienced anything like that before, so I looked it up online, and Native’s site said that the deodorant takes a couple weeks to start working because it’s trying to draw out all the chemicals in your body. Some people can make the switch easily, but that just wasn’t the case for me. After a few weeks I did start feeling a difference and not as gross. Although I did finally start feeling different, I still felt like I was sweating a lot and had to reapply throughout the day, especially after I worked out. And I always felt like I smelled bad around my arms, which was really weird. I’m the type of person that has to use up all of a product before getting something new to replace it, I guess so I can get my money’s worth, and I couldn’t wait to finish off this product and get the Kopari deodorant. Maybe I just didn’t get a strong enough scent, I don’t know, but I didn’t absolutely love the deodorant the way I was seeing everyone else was. I loved how it was a clean product, but I was ready to try something new.
So when I finally used up all of the Native Cucumber and Mint, I ended up buying the Kopari deodorant, as you may have noticed in my New Year’s shopping haul. Immediately, putting the product on, I already liked it so much better than Native. I’m not sure if Kopari states that there’s a period of adjustment from using their product like Native, but I think because my body already adjusted I didn’t experience that if there was. I’ve been using it for over a month now and honestly, I think it really works and I love it! I don’t feel gross or smelly, like what I did with Native. I ended up getting it in the original coconut oil scent, and they offer two other scents I believe!? I love the durable packaging and the twist off cap, it just feels like a quality product. After my workouts, I don’t feel such a need to reapply as I did with Native. When I was wearing Native I was just so self-conscious throughout the day, wondering if people could smell what I could faintly, and that wasn’t a great feeling. With Kopari, that’s something that I didn’t have to think about anymore. I am that type of person that sweats throughout the day for whatever reason in my armpits (excessive sweating probs, black is my best friend), so maybe that’s just why I didn’t like Native as much, I don’t really know. But Kopari definitely beat out Native in my opinion in regards to which is the best natural deodorant out there!
Both state that they are natural and made from clean ingredients. The only downside to these products are how expensive they are. When I was buying the Native, it was $12, and when I bought the Kopari online, it was $14!! Compared to the regular deodorant options, it’s almost triple their price. I guess this is when you ask yourself what matters the most to you. The price that you pay for your products or the quality of the products you buy. Everyone is different, and I’ve gotten to the point in life where I care for the quality of what I’m buying. I want the things I buy to work, and to last a long time. So why you may be sitting there thinking I’m an absolute crazy person for spending that much, I totally agree with you and get it! However, I just care about what I’m putting on my body right now, and to me, the splurge is worth it.
I know that this was a super exciting blog post talking all things sweat and underarms, but I just wanted to share my experience with these clean and natural deodorants that are out there that I’ve wanted to try for a really long time! I’m disappointed that the Native didn’t work as well as what I was expecting it to, based on how many people I saw online love it, but I’m glad I did find one that works in Kopari! Thanks for stopping buy today, hope you have an awesome weekend <3
