My Summer 2020 Favorites

My Summer 2020 Favorites

So far this summer, amidst all the chaos, I’ve accumulated a bunch of favorite things that I’ve been enjoying recently. From music to food to clothes, I thought I would put a list together and share those things today! Some I may have mentioned before in previous hauls, but others are just a bunch of random things that I’ve been obsessed with lately! Here we go…

Puma Defy Shoes

For a while now, I have been wanting some black sneakers. I don’t know why, but I just love the look of it, and it easily goes with everything. Ever since The Last Dance came out, I’ve wanted to buy about 10 different pairs of Air Jordan’s, Puma, and Adidas sneakers. I’m telling you, I’ve become obsessed and have so many shoes bookmarked on my computer! But anyways, I ended up purchasing these Puma black defy sneakers that don’t have laces and you can easily slide on and off. I’ve only had them for a couple of weeks, and I already love them and don’t want to go a day without wearing them. They are so comfortable and have become my go-to sneaker for everything! There is this all red pair that I was close to getting instead, and I think I might have to order them because I do love this shoe and the comfort of them.

Lorna Jane Sports Bra

I had mentioned this in my shopping haul at the beginning of quarantine, and let me tell you, I love this sports bra. It’s supportive, lightweight, and it feels like you are wearing nothing! I love the fabric of this bra and I want to go out and buy so many others like it. The only downside is that Lorna Jane is super pricey, but honestly with the way I love this bra it seems totally worth it to buy some more eventually!

Superfood Acaí Bites

I don’t know about you, but I love me some Costco. That store has basically everything you need and more! For the past year or so, I’ve walked by the freezer section and seen these superfood acaí bites and have always wanted to try them. They were on sale for $8 and we ended up buying them, and let me tell you, these things are amazing! They are only 50 calories with 4 grams of sugar, and they are dairy-free and delicious! I love acaí anything and I just knew I was going to love these, but I didn’t know how much until that first bite. They are perfect for the summertime when you are craving something cold and sweet. I’m not sure if they are sold anywhere else besides Costco, but I’d love to check out more from this brand.

Spirulina Shake

Last month I ended up trying new protein shakes recipes. The chocolate spirulina shake was by far my favorite from that week, and I’ve continued adding spirulina to my shakes ever since. I’ve been loving putting that superfood into my drink because it’s supposed to be the superfood of all superfoods, and putting it into my shake with chocolate cuts back the strong taste it has.

Iced Matcha Latte

I did a whole blog post devoted to this very thing already, so I won’t go on and on about it, but man do I love this drink! My favorite thing to do in the summer afternoons now is make my iced matcha latte. It’s the perfect drink to cool down with!

Golfing

I’ve mentioned golf before, and I’d like to bring it up again now. I have really come to love this sport. I love watching the PGA Tour on TV, and I love going out there and hitting some golf balls in the front yard! I love the mental zone that you have to get in and how it is basically a challenge and mind game against yourself. My brothers and I for Father’s Day ended up taking my Dad out to play 18 holes, and it was so much fun! That was the first time I have ever gone out to a golf course and played the full 18 and I had a blast doing it. My putting game was kind of awful, but I just enjoyed being there, trying to get the hang of things and adjust hole by hole. Golfing is definitely something that I want to do more of this summer!

Journaling

This is another activity that I’ve mentioned before on here, and although I haven’t been journaling as much as I should or want to, I’ve still been enjoying just sitting down and writing. I always have, and I think I always will. I keep reminding myself that this time that we are in is going to be in the history books one day, and I should be writing more often so I can look back and truly remember what these days were like and what I was specifically doing in them.

Poshmark

So, I created a Poshmark account a couple of weeks ago, and I think it’s safe to say that I have become a little bit addicted. I have to check it everyday that’s how obsessed I am! Like I said, I’ve been really into golf, and paying $30 to $50 for some basic polos and shorts just wasn’t appealing to me. All I had to do was search on Poshmark for some golf clothes and I came up with some great finds! I may do a golf apparel haul on here soon to share all the items that I have picked up from there for not that much money. There’s a lot of great items to be found on the site for good prices, and it’s been hard not buying everything on my likes page!

My Sun’s Out Spotify Playlist

I, of course, can’t leave out one of my favorite things in the world: music. My music taste is a little all over the place, and it really does change by the season. When I think of summer, I think of being outside, the sun’s out, and you are just jamming as loud as you can to some great music. I ended up creating a playlist this past week with over 120 songs that remind me of summer, and I already love it so much! I never realized how many songs I knew that have “summer” in the title like “Feels Like Summer” by Childish Gambino and “Kings of Summer” by ayokay and Quinn XCII. Of course there are more songs on here that don’t include it, like “Dark Days” by Local Natives and “Don’t Take the Money” by Bleachers. This playlist makes me super happy and I feel like it perfectly embodies that summer feeling!

Talkin’ Baseball Podcast

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m a huge baseball fan. I come from a baseball loving family and the game brings a lot of joy to me. So, not having baseball these past couple of months has kind of sucked. I miss the sport so much, and these past couple of weeks I’ve been keeping up with the chaos and frustration that is the negotiations between MLB and the MLBPA trying to reach a deal to have baseball come back in 2020. The best way I’ve been keeping up with all the drama is listening to the Talkin’ Baseball podcast with Jomboy, Talkin’ Jake and Trevor Plouffe. I really have enjoyed their breakdowns of what’s going on in the game, as well as their interviews with current players and other people involved in the baseball world.

And that (finally) wraps up all my favorite summer things for 2020! I can’t believe we are basically halfway through the year. I really hope the rest of this year takes a turn towards the positive because these past 6 months have kind of been the worst for the world. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope this post inspired you to try out some new things! Have a great weekend! <3
