Gosh, I don’t know about you, but I’ve just been feeling off this week. My mind and my heart have just felt heavy from different things happening in the world, and I’ve just been off these past couple of days. I felt so lazy not doing anything and just not feeling productive, but I couldn’t bring myself to do anything productive. This is the first time in the last couple of months that I’ve felt restless. I think I just needed to reset this week and just take it slow. It’s kind of crazy how I’d been planning on doing this post for a while now, and when the week came to do it, it was the week that I needed to pamper myself the most.
Even though I’ve had a lot of time, for well, everything recently, I’ve been really slacking on pampering myself lately. I talked about in my cleanser review how I’ve only been cleansing my face 3 to 5 times a week, and that’s basically like the bare minimum of taking the time out of my day to really take care of my body and my skin. I finally took the time to do it this week, and it was super nice just taking my time to take care of myself. So today, I thought I’d share my full pampering routine and the products that I used in the hopes that maybe I can get in the habit of pampering myself more often!
Step 1: Put on Some Chill Music
Music just sets the tone for everything in life for me, and during this pampering session I needed some chill beats. I have this old playlist called “That Mood” on Spotify and it really helped me to just chill out and take it slow when taking care of myself!
Step 2: Dry Brush
I’m not going to lie, I’ve been staring at my dry brush ever since I got it last year and I have never used it until now. It’s by the brand Ecotools and was very affordable, and I’ve been meaning to use it because I hear it’s great for your skin and cellulite, but I’ve just been putting it off. I think it’s supposed to help with circulation as well because you’re supposed to start with your legs with long upward motions. It didn’t feel as bad as what I thought it was going to be, but it actually felt pretty nice! I’m not sure if I’ll see results with it, but I’d be interested to continue trying it out to see!
Step 3: Cleansing and Showering
I put these two together because I’m kinda lazy. I like to cleanse my skin in the shower, which I know some people think is a big no no! I am really careful in there though and don’t put my head directly under the shower head because the hot water could dry out your skin. I just get my hands wet and wash my face in circular motions as normal. I know I should probably do this before I get in the shower, but it just feels easier to cleanse in the shower! If you’re wondering what cleanser I use, it’s this Elemis cleanser that I just did a review on last week 🙂
On days that I work out I take my body wash and loofah and just go to town washing my entire body to make sure that all the sweat is gone and I feel nice and soft! I just recently picked up this EOS Raspberry Pomegranate Shaving Cream that I’ve been enjoying. I’ve also been enjoying shaving my legs with a men’s razor because it feels so much better than the women’s razors I’ve used in the past (Just don’t tell my brother I stole his out of his drawer, ok?).
As soon as I get out of the shower, I put lotion on my legs with one of these lotions below! I’m really sensitive to strong scents, and I find that both of these are not too strong and don’t end up giving me a headache!
Step 3: Face Mask
Like I’ve said before, I’m pretty lazy when it comes to my skin. I either put on a face mask right before I hop in the shower so I can wash it off easily, or I cleanse in the shower. So this time it was weird for me to cleanse my skin and then put a face mask on right after! I ended up going with the turmeric mask from Kiehl’s that I’ve mentioned before. Maybe it was because my face was squeaky clean, but my face started tingling and I’ve never experienced that with this mask before! It went away after a few minutes but I was getting concerned haha. To pass the time before washing the mask off, I ended up doing some reading. I’m currently on my fourth book of my reading list and am so close to finishing! I plan on doing a book update soon of all the books I’m planning to read for the next few months, so stay tuned for that!
Step 4: Moisturize
Once I’ve taken the face mask off, it is time to tone and moisturize. I’ve mentioned these products before in my skincare routine I believe, but I’m running out of both and probably need to get some replacements soon! I’ve really enjoyed them so I don’t know if I’ll repurchase or not, we’ll see!
Step 5: Jade roller
My last and final step is to use the jade roller on my face. It’s basically like a massager for your face, and I feel like when I use it I’m ensuring that the products are sinking into the skin. It’s very relaxing to just take a few minutes to go up and down on the skin. There’s some expensive jade roller’s out there, but I got this one from Amazon for like 20 bucks!
And just like that, my pampering routine is complete. I can’t tell you how much I needed it this week. I just had felt so off and so unlike my usual self, it was nice to just take a step back and take care of myself. I hope this post finds everyone well and encourages you to pamper yourself! Thanks for stopping by today <3
