Prior to this week, my skincare routine was…well…nonexistent. I’d cleanse my face and put on some moisturizer, but the full routine? That’d be a no. I had all these products on my counter, but I couldn’t take 10 minutes each night to use them all! I don’t know why…I’d take my makeup off, but couldn’t spare the few minutes before bed to take care of my skin.
I ended up buying a new product that was pretty pricey recently, and I knew I couldn’t let that go bad on the counter, and that I actually had to do my routine each night. So that’s what I’ve consistently done this week, my skincare routine. And I must say, I’ve been loving it! It’s a great way to relax and cool down, and it’s so nice going to bed with a clean face. So today, I’m sharing with you the five skincare products I use each night. Some of these I’ve had a while, others I’ve used but not on a super consistent basis, and one product that is new to my routine!
#1 Cleanser
I still use my Garnier Micellar Water to remove my make up, so no need to go into detail about that when I’ve talked about it here! I’ve been using this Elemis Superfood cleanser for a while now, and I must say I still love it. I devoted a whole blog post about it, and it has been amazing for my skin. I love using it with my Vanity Planet cleansing brush! It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed. When I run out of this product, I’m definitely going to buy again!
#2 Toner
Now this is a product I’ve used, but not consistently at all. You look at this bottle, and it looks like I’ve barely used it! But I have I promise! When choosing a toner, I didn’t want one that included alcohol, because ones that include alcohol make my skin feel like it’s burning after applying it. This one didn’t, and it makes my skin feel so smooth after cleansing. It’s interesting that this says it’s best for normal to dry skin, because I lean more towards the oily side and have never had a problem with this!
#3 Eye Cream
So…when I went on Ulta to look for a new eye cream recently, this one stood out to me a lot by Tula. It had great reviews, and the description seemed like a great suit for my skin type. I added it to my cart, and proceeded with my shopping, to later find out that this little tiny bottle of eye cream was…$52. I can’t believe I spent $52 on this little thing. I must say though, the tiniest bit goes a long way, and I love the feel of this on my under eye area, as well as my eye lids. It’s not a thick eye cream at all, but smooth and lightweight.
#4 Gel Moisturizer
With my oily skin, regular moisturizers can easily crease on me, especially if I put it on under makeup. This gel moisturizer from Origins has been my absolute favorite moisturizer I’ve ever had. Once I finish the bottle, you better believe I’m buying another one! This product smells amazing, and it really sinks into my skin, making it feel so smooth and soft.
#5 Face Oil
My last and final product I use in my routine is the Save Face Oil from Kopari. Typically I’d mix my oils with my moisturizer, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that with the Origins moisturizer! It would be a very interesting scent, the creamsicle smell from the moisturizer and the vanilla scent from the oil just doesn’t go well together, so I apply them separately. So far I’ve really liked this oil. It does feel a little greasy when I first apply it, but it just takes a couple of minutes for it to sink in, which is totally fine by me. I don’t feel gross by the time a put my head on the pillow, but fresh and clean!
And that wraps up my skincare routine! This routine takes maybe 5 to 10 minutes long, the longest being cleansing the skin with the Vanity Planet brush. I really hope to continue going strong with doing this routine, even though it’s so easy to just skip it and go straight to bed! Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you all have a great weekend!
