Since I shared my tall jean collection last month, I thought it would be fun to share my legging collection as well, since leggings for tall gals can be hard to come by. I figured it would be easier to show you how the leggings look on my 5’11 frame, so before my workouts this past week, I snapped some pictures on my phone of the leggings that I have to give you a better sense of where they hit me length wise and how they fit! Not the best pictures I could’ve taken, but it was just easier to get them on my phone in front of the mirror! I have 8 leggings total from 4 different brands, so I’ll just go into each brand and tell you about them today!
#1 Victoria Sport
Victoria Sport was the first brand that I discovered that offered tall sizes in workout leggings, and I hopped on board really fast to try them! I currently have 3 pairs that I’ve gotten within the past 2 years, and they’ve held up really nicely. All of these leggings I got in a medium, long length, and they have yet to disappoint. Each of these pairs have pockets on either side, which I find really helpful when I’m going for a run and need a place to put my keys! I haven’t had any problems with these leggings, they hold up during workouts, and I love the mesh details on each of them. The bright purplish, blueberry shade below is a 7/8th length, but I’m pretty sure they offered a long option for that length as well which is pretty cool. These leggings hit about an inch below my belly button, and they hold their shape nicely.
I don’t know if you can tell from the picture below, but the line going down isn’t white, but it’s a silver glitter. Honestly if I would’ve known that, I probably wouldn’t have gotten these leggings because I’m not a glittery clothes kinda person. But regardless, I’m glad I did end up getting them because these leggings are a thick material, and they fit great and are awesome for the colder months.
My last pair of Victoria Sport leggings are by far my favorite of the three. They are a buttery soft material, and very high-waisted! They hold up during my workouts, and I’m not constantly adjusting or worrying about them. The length is absolutely perfect! If I had to choose one pair of leggings to wear for the rest of my life, I would choose these.
I always find myself checking the Victoria’s Secret site because I do love their leggings, but I feel like these past few months they really haven’t prioritized their workout section, which is disappointing to me since I’ve found their leggings to be one of my favorites for tall girls. All of these leggings I didn’t pay full price for because in the past, every few months or so they would offer a sports bra and legging deal for $55, which was amazing since the leggings are usually $80 and the sports bras are around $40. I’m sad because I haven’t seen them offer this deal in over a year I want to say, so I haven’t gotten any of their leggings for a long time. I hope one day they start offering that deal again!
#2 Gymshark
Gymshark has really blown up within these past couple of years. I feel like every time I go on Instagram there’s someone wearing their products. So last year, when I was a student, I used their student discount and bought a pair, wanting to see the hype about the brand. Let me tell you, when I took them out of the package, I thought they weren’t going to fit at all. They are like a compression material, and I thought there was no way these leggings were going to come close to covering all of my legs. So I tried them on, and I was shocked. They are a very stretchy material and actually fit surprisingly well, and the length was something that I could live with, as you can see down below. This pair is from the seamless collection, and my only complaint is the fit around the crotch region. You have to be careful about what you wear in fear of that dreadful camel toe, but I feel like you have to be that way anyways when you are wearing colored leggings!
I love how high-waisted these leggings are and how great they feel on. It honestly doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything! They aren’t confining and I feel like I can really move in them. I ended up getting the black seamless camo pair for Christmas. I’d been wanting them ever since they were released and got them on sale for $40 when they were doing that blackout sale (not the most fun experience shopping online, but whatever). I really do like these leggings and am surprised they both don’t come up too short on my legs. These are a medium in both and like I said, they fit very comfortably,
#3 Nike
I only have one pair of Nike leggings, and I’ve had these ever since sophomore year of high school! This was before tall sizing got popular, so it was that compromise of whether you wanted the leggings to be long enough or if you wanted them to fit around the waist. These are a large, and they always didn’t look right around the waist region to me. I honestly didn’t like them that much during my first couple of years with them because they didn’t fit perfectly, but I don’t know, they’ve really grown on me this past year. Even though they didn’t fit the way I wanted them to, they do have a drawstring around the waist that I tie just below my belly button and they fit a lot better. They weren’t meant to be high-waisted I think, but I made them be that way! I think the reason why I’ve held off on buying any more Nike leggings is because I just felt like all of their leggings must fit that same way and are not really worth it. If I want to spend a lot of money on a pair of leggings, I want them to fit perfectly. I’ll have to go online and see if they offer better sizing, but for now I’m content with just the one pair.
#4 Champion
The last two pairs I have to share with you today are the Champion leggings from Target. I got these guys my freshmen year of college, and once again it was that same compromise with the Nike pair of leggings. These leggings do fall down around the waist with high intensity workouts because there isn’t a drawstring. So to still get use out of these, I like to wear them when I’m doing light intensity workouts, like on arm day or just riding the stationary bike.
As much as I love the patterns, I don’t absolutely love these leggings. I’m pretty sure I got them both in a large, so they feel very lose and almost too stretchy. I feel like I constantly have to adjust them because they won’t stay up! I don’t think they’re the most flattering on me, but hey, I try to get use out of them the best I can!
And those are all 8 leggings that I own! I know there’s people out there that live in leggings and have about 20 pairs or more of leggings, but to be completely honest, I only ever wear leggings when I’m working out. I like the compression that they give on my knees since I do have patellar tendonitis. I don’t usually wear them out all the time unless I’m planning on working out later in the day, which rarely happens. I don’t know, unpopular opinion alert, I just feel more comfortable in jeans! Leggings were banned in high school and considered the devil (not really, but basically hahaha) and a dress code violation, so I never really got into wearing leggings until I went to college and you could wear whatever you wanted. You could be scandalous and show off your shoulder and wear Nike shorts or short shorts and tight leggings, cuz I guess that it’s in college that boys actually grow up and can see such things, as opposed to high school!
Anyways, rant aside, I hope the leggings that I shared today give you a better idea of wear to shop! It’s hard to know if buying leggings over $50 is worth it or not because length is a huge factor, or at least it is for me. I’m really curious to try more tall brands of leggings ranging from Old Navy to Athleta that offer tall sizes which is amazing. I said it before in my tall jeans post, but it’s really nice how more brands and companies are offering sizes suited for tall girls so we don’t have to compromise if we want the fit right or the length right. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great one!
