So almost a month ago, I had received my Tropeaka items that I devoted a whole blog post about. I ended up picking up some matcha tea powder with the sole intention of making some iced matcha lattes this summer. The very first thing I did when that package came in the mail was whip out the recipe I had bookmarked and tried making it. The first one wasn’t too shabby, but since then I think I’ve perfected my technique if I do say so myself! I’ll have the link to the recipe I based it off of down below, but I’ll share how I’ve been making them, which really isn’t too different or original!
Based on the package and just general research online, matcha has a lot of benefits, such as it being a great source of antioxidants, as well as it boosting your metabolism. It’s supposed to be an overall beneficial thing for your health, which is a bonus because I really do love the taste! I’ll link an article that goes into the exact health benefits if your interested 🙂

So the first thing that I do is put maybe 1/4th of a cup of water in the glass that I use. I’ve found that adding a little bit of water makes the drink less grainy and it doesn’t take away from the taste and water it down at all. Next, I take two teaspoons of the matcha tea powder and add it to that water. I then take a little hand held mixer to mix together the matcha and the water. I found that doing this leads to less lumps in the matcha, and less of a mess because if the glass isn’t completely full you don’t risk making a mess everywhere as you try to get rid of all the lumps.
The next thing that I do is add about a cup or so of milk. My preferred milk of choice has always been the Bolthouse Farms Milk, but because the store didn’t have it, I’ve been going with my next best choice, Ripple. I did a whole blog post on milk if you want to check out why those are my top choices! They both are dairy-free, nut-free options that have become a staple for me in my diet.
The last ingredient to add is honey. You can add as much as you want for how much sweetness you want in the drink, but I usually stick to one to two teaspoons because I don’t want it to be too sweet. And then you take the hand held mixer, mix it all up, and there you go!
This has definitely become my afternoon drink of choice. I love the earthy flavor, and it’s just so refreshing in the summertime! I never in a million years thought that I would be a tea drinker of any kind, but these past few years I’ve really come around to it and actually have enjoyed it. This recipe has definitely become a staple for me. I should probably start trying different matcha recipes because I have enjoyed this one so much, but hey, that could be another blog post in the future! Thanks for stopping by today, and I highly recommend giving the iced matcha latte a go!! Hope you have a great one wherever you are <3
