My Fall Fashion Favorites This Season

My Fall Fashion Favorites This Season

Here in North Alabama, it’s actually been chilly this past week! We’ve had highs in the 70’s, and lows in the 40’s, so I think the fall weather has finally arrived!! This morning I actually went for my first run this fall season and it was amazing. Not too hot, not too cold, just perfect! So with the weather finally cooperating, I thought I’d tell you about the specific fashion pieces I’ve been loving for 2019!

Item #1- Chunky Jade Sweater

There’s nothing better than getting a comfy, cozy sweater for the cooler weather. I got this sweater from a boutique over in Starkville, MS, called George-Mary’s. I love love love this boutique and all of their clothing items, and I knew I couldn’t resist this sweater when it was on sale on their site for 20% off. A large was the only size that they had left in stock, and it is massive!! But I feel like when you tuck it in to your jeans, the outfit comes together really well. This is probably the most oversized sweater I have ever owned, but I love it so much! The sleeves are so long, but it is one of the softest sweaters that’s not scratchy like some sweaters can be. Although this sweater is out of stock on their site, I highly recommend checking George-Mary’s out and supporting a small, local business. They also just started an afterpay service which is awesome!!

Item #2- Burnt Orange Wide Legged Pants

If you wanna find out where I got this shirt from, check out this post! 🙂

These pants might look familiar because they were in my ASOS tall haul, but they are amazing and are definitely one of my favorite pieces that I own. My wardrobe doesn’t really consist of any standout pieces, so these were a little out of my element, but I love them nonetheless! They are so comfortable and when it gets even chillier out, I’d love to dress them with thicker sweaters. I feel like it’d be a really cute look!

Item #3- Maroon Kate Spade Crossbody Bag

If you read my top 5 fashion essentials, you’ll know that my black coach bag is my ride or die that I use 90% of the time. Back in the summer, I went to Nashville to visit some family, and at the Opry Mills Mall they have a Kate Spade outlet where they have really good sales on their bags. When my eyes saw this purse, I couldn’t turn away. I had to get it and I justified it because it was maroon. Although people may consider maroon to be a fall color, for me, it’s a year round color because HAIL STATE, maroon and white all day everyday. I know I said in that post that it’s hard with colored bags because you can only wear certain pieces with it, but I thought this would be a great little bag to have that could add a little pop of color when needed. I actually got this bag on sale for around $50, and I know I’m going to get a lot of uses per wear out of it.

Item #4- Lipstick

These are two drugstore lipsticks that I can’t get enough of from Wet N’ Wild and Maybelline. The color from Maybelline is called “Clay Crush” and it has that orange tint in the color to make it a perfect lip color for the fall. The one from Wet N’ Wild is a “High-Shine Lipstick,” so it doesn’t dry down to a matte finish like “Clay Crush.” The one I have is in the shade “Cedar Later” (perfect fall name if ya ask me). It is a little bit darker than the other lipstick, but not too bold of a color. In my featured image of this post, I’m wearing the Wet N’ Wild, and on items 1 and 7 I’m wearing Maybelline. I’m sorry I didn’t get a close up of these two shades on the lips to see how they actually look on the lips since packaging can be deceiving!!! I’ll make a mental note to remember next time 🙂

Item #5- Booties

I love booties. Although I’m 5’11 and don’t need any extra height, I want the extra height 🙂 I love wearing heels! People sometimes ask me why I wear them and I just respond by saying because I can and I want to, it’s that simple. The tan booties I got from Target, and the black ones I got from TJ Maxx! These are two pairs that didn’t break the bank and I love to wear them every fall season. I had to wear the tan ones during a presentation at school last year, and I made the mistake of wearing them and walking in them all day long. My feet hurt so much by the end of the day, but I think I broke them in really well and they haven’t hurt wearing them for longer periods since!

The black pair has this flower detail on the back of the heel that I love, and they are also super comfortable to wear. I won’t forget when I tried these shoes on in store, I was with my brother and there was another lady there trying on shoes. I was telling my brother that I shouldn’t be spending money (broke college student ya know) and she basically told me to treat myself! So I took this kind stranger’s advice and got them! I’m so glad she helped talk me into buying these booties because they really are one of my favorite pairs of shoes that I own. These are two versatile pairs that can go with anything.

Item #6- Perfume

I didn’t realize until writing this post that “Hippie Princess” is unavailable, so I’m so sorry about that!!! It’s been a while since I’ve smelled other Vera Wang fragrances, but I”m sure they smell just as good!

In my fall essentials list, I mentioned how smells can make me get headaches depending on how strong they are. I didn’t start wearing perfume until college, and if you’re anything like me, I love pairing perfumes with a look and season. I have two scents that I love for this time of year. I got this small bottle “Warm and Cozy” from PINK, and even the name is very fallesque (can that be a word!?). It has a very cotton candy like scent with warm flavors like vanilla. Another scent I love to wear is “Hippie Princess” from Vera Wang that has a fruity vanilla scent, but different than “Warm and Cozy.” The only downside of this one is that I feel like it fades kind of quickly, but the scent itself is wonderful. These are two scents that aren’t too strong and I can wear throughout the day.

Item #7-  Long-sleeved Olive Green and Camo Shirt

Olive green has always been one of my favorite colors, and when I saw these two shirts from Dress Up back in August, well, you know what happened next. They are lightweight and made with a really soft material that I find perfect for this time of year. Both of these long-sleeved shirts remind me of my camouflage phase that I had in fourth grade. I loved everything camo related. I had skirts, scarves, bags, you name it! I’ve never been hunting or anything like that, I just loved the color from a fashion perspective! Make it camo, but make it cute camo.

Item #8- Jewelry

Jewelry is that fashion piece that can simply elevate your outfit. I have an obsession with all things gold jewelry, so here are my favorite pieces that I’m loving this year! I got the set of earrings and the gold garnet ring from my parents for my birthday this year. You can’t really tell how tiny the ring is in the picture or that it has a tiny garnet stone but I got it as a simple pinky ring. This ring is special to me because I wanted it as a class ring from graduating from Mississippi State this year. The earrings are great because they aren’t too over the top and they aren’t heavy that they irritate your ears. The gold layered necklace I got from my amazing best friend and I love it!!! It pairs with basically everything and it just gives that outfit a little extra pop.

And that wraps up my list of my favorite fashion pieces for this fall season! I’m so sorry that this was another book long post, and if you made it this far, I’m sending you a virtual hug of appreciation. Fall is my favorite season to dress for because you don’t have to put too much effort into making things cute, yet comfortable. I’d love to know what your favorite things to wear this season are in the comments below 🙂 Hope you have a great one wherever you are, and thank you for stopping by to read this post!! <3
