My Current Reading List

My Current Reading List

Back at the beginning of the year, I wrote a blog post about the books I’ll be reading by March 31st to keep up with my 17 book goal for the year. Now that we are officially one day from the end of March, I’m happy to report I read all 5 books! However, I didn’t exactly stick to the 5 books mentioned in that post. I was 4 for 5, and I ended up switching Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. When it got to my final book, I don’t know, I just wasn’t feeling Essentialism and The Lord of the Rings was on my brother and I’s books to read for the year. I was originally going to title this post “Books I’ll be reading by June 31st,” but let’s get real, I’ll probably be reading these books within a month with all this social distancing and quarantining! So here are the books I’ll be reading:

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkein

This is the book that I’m currently reading right now. As soon as I finished Fellowship of the Ring last week I had to keep reading! I mentioned before that I grew up with watching the movies, and this is my first time ever reading the trilogy, and I’ve been really enjoying it! Although not everything in the book makes the cut in the movies, I still think they did an incredible job with the movies and they will always be one of my favorites.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkein

Might as well finish the rest of the series, right? The books are somewhat long, but hey, with all the time we have to spend I feel like I could finish these pretty quickly!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

I finished the 6th book back in February, and I need to finish this series for the second time! Hopefully this time I won’t cry when finishing it, but hey, we’ll see.

Emma by Jane Austen

Last year I read Pride and Prejudice, and because I loved that book so much I’ve been wanting to read more of Austen’s work. I feel like with the movie Emma coming out it was the perfect time to read this. I don’t know if I’m gonna spend $20 to watch it at home now that that’s an option, but I do want to see it at some point!

And those are the four books I’ll be reading during self isolation! I feel like with all this time on our hands I might finish these books sooner than expected, and if that happens I’ll be sure to write a book update! Thanks for stopping by today, happy reading!
