If I’m being completely honest, I haven’t really been in the Christmas mood these past couple of weeks. I thought that since Thanksgiving was over I’d be so pumped for Christmas, but I never really got there until this week. It just hasn’t felt like Christmas to me. And that makes me a little sad because Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday, but I don’t feel as excited as what I want to be. So, I’m changing that today. Music is what will help me get in that holiday spirit, and I’m changing up what I’m listening to now to set the mood!
Here’s all the artists I’ll be listening to-
Robert Goulet
Every year when we decorate the Christmas tree, the first CD we listen to is Robert Goulet’s Wonderful World of Christmas. My Mom and I were decorating around the house this past week, and when we got around to decorating the tree, of course we had to put him on and I was slowly getting more festive!
Frank Sinatra
For some reason during high school, I went through a Frank Sinatra phase (really weird and random I know), but I remember seeing his Christmas album during winter break and knowing I had to get it to listen to for the holidays! I love his rendition of “Jingle Bells” and the entire album as a whole.
Bing Crosby
As I mentioned in my Christmas movie post, I watched White Christmas for the first time a couple of years ago and I can’t go a Christmas without watching it! Ever since then, I love putting on his Christmas album because it reminds me of that great movie and makes me happy 🙂
The Oh Hellos
The Oh Hellos are the most underrated band in my opinion. They came out with a little Christmas EP a while ago and although it doesn’t have that many songs, I love listening to it around this time of year and I haven’t listened to it yet! Maybe when I’m wrapping some presents I can!
The Carpenters
When I think of Christmas albums growing up, one of the first ones I think of is the Carpenters Christmas Portrait. It reminds me of being in the car during the holiday season, travelling to who knows where!
Amy Grant
Of course the queen of Christmas has to be on this list! This one also reminds me of those road trips during the Christmas time with my family. Her albums A Christmas to Remember, Christmas Album, and Home for Christmas reminds me of being a kid and always listening to her. I haven’t gotten to listen to her much this year, but I’m going to now!
Michael Bublé
Last, but certainly not least, is the great Michael Bublé. I love love love his album Christmas. It is one of my absolute favorites. Every song from start to finish is so good!!
And I think that’s a good start for trying to get in the Christmas spirit! It’s hard to believe that Christmas is officially less than 10 days away. I can’t wait to spend it with my family and have a great time. Thankfully I’m all done with my Christmas shopping, and I think my wallet thanks me for that because it’s been dwindling here recently! Thanks for dropping by today, hope you have a great one!
