So…in the past couple of weeks, I’ve done a little bit of shopping. I’ve been wanting to update a few things in my wardrobe, from activewear to dresses, and I thought I’d share what I got today! If you didn’t know, I’m 5’11, and shopping can be a little difficult. Jeans and leggings aren’t long enough, dresses aren’t long enough, basically nothing is long enough. Is it the end of the world? No, but it can be a hassle sometimes. One of the reasons why I wanted to start this blog was to share my findings and maybe help some tall girls out there! So today, I thought I’d share with you some tall pieces that I’ve gotten in the past couple of weeks.
Athleta Legend Mesh 7/8 Tight Leggings
I’ve been wanting to try the Athleta tall section for a while now, and I finally splurged and picked up a few things and called it a birthday present to myself! When I was browsing, I saw that Allyson Felix actually did a collaboration with Athleta and came out with some activewear! Allyson Felix has been one of my favorite athletes for as long as I can remember, and once I saw this I knew I had to pick something up. The fabric on these leggings are some of the softest I’ve ever felt, and I can’t wait to workout in these. These leggings are for your typical training and high impact workouts, and I got them in a medium tall, making them long enough for me! You can’t tell the mesh like detail in my photo above, so hopefully you can see in the picture below some of the textures and details.
Athleta Textured Brooklyn Jogger
I’ve been meaning to pick up some black joggers for a while now, and when I saw these guys on sale, I thought I’d try them out! And let me tell you, I’ve been living in these guys for the last week and a half. They are lightweight and super comfortable. The only thing I wish these had were a drawstring to prevent the waist from sliding down, but it really hasn’t bothered me that much, so I think I’ll survive! This texture and design on these kind of reminds me of a pant suit, but way more comfortable.
ASOS DESIGN Tall Tie Waist Wrap Front Maxi Dress in Navy
ASOS probably has some of the best tall styles out there for tall girls. They basically have everything you need or want, no matter the price, so there is no limit! I wanted to buy a new dress for a wedding I was going to, and when I saw this navy dress I knew it was perfect for the occasion. I ended up getting it in a size 8, and it fit perfectly and the length was spot on! This dress is a very stretchy material, and it’s also strangely heavy which makes me nervous to put it on a hanger because I’m afraid the weight of it will stretch it out. So what I’ve been doing is putting the top on the hanger, then take the bottom of the dress and just put it over one shoulder that way it doesn’t over stretch it.
ASOS DESIGN Tall Crew Neck Ribbed Midi Dress
While I was doing some wedding dress shopping, I found some other pieces that I thought would be perfect for the fall time. I’m a Mississippi State gal, so once I saw this maroon dress, I knew it was for me. This is a sweater dress, the material is so soft and stretchy! I can’t wait for the cooler weather when I can wear this dress.
ASOS DESIGN Tall Tie Waist Jumpsuit
My last and final piece is this tan jumpsuit. I’ve always been hesitant about buying regular sized jumpsuits because, well, you know, the fit is a little off. They just don’t really look right on me and they’re tight in the wrong areas and not long enough. So when I saw this tall jumpsuit, I thought I’d give it a try! This is definitely something I’m gonna have to iron out because of all the wrinkles, but I’m happy with the fit of it. One disappointing thing though is the tie waist belt. I’m basically going to have to get a new belt for this because there are strands hanging out all over this belt. I’ve never seen a belt with so many strands hanging off, it honestly makes me wonder how they passed this off as being ok considering the price!
It makes me nervous that the jumpsuit will do the same, but hopefully it will hold up. I may just get a black belt or something and see how that goes. Knowing what I know now, I don’t know if I would’ve still purchased this jumpsuit or not. I don’t have anything like it in my wardrobe, but the quality is a little disappointing, and I’m not absolutely in love with it, I just…like it. It is really cute though, it’s just weird seeing myself in jumpsuits I guess!
And that wraps up this little tall haul! I really do like mostly all the pieces I picked up and can’t wait to wear them out and about. Doing this haul really makes me want to start testing out more tall clothing lines to see if they are actually worth trying out, so maybe that could be something to do more of in the future! Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great week!
