Happy Thanksgiving week everybody! I can’t believe that we are nearing the end of November, and we have a little over one month left of 2019. Anyone on top of their Christmas shopping yet?! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been spending this past week online shopping trying to figure out what I’m getting everyone this year.
Although the shopping is commencing, I think it’s important to take a moment away from the Christmas craze and focus on what we all are thankful for this year. This year has definitely not been what I expected to be, and I’m definitely not where I thought I’d be. Even though this has been one of the toughest times in my life, I still have things to be grateful for this holiday season, so I thought I’d share them on here with you 🙂
I’M THANKFUL FOR…
- My Parents
Like I said, I’m not where I thought I’d be right now. I’ve never felt so confused and lost about where I want to go in life. I have all of these dreams, but I don’t even know where to begin. With all of this chaos in my head, my parents have been saints and have let me stay with them as I try to figure things out. They’ve been so gracious and patient with me during this time. I hope one day in the future I will be able to return all the things they’ve done for me my entire life.
2. Health and Fitness
The one thing that I’ve fallen into a habit of doing from week to week is working out consistently. I can’t imagine my life without working out nowadays. I love moving my body and it really is my escape from everything and helps me clear my thoughts. Although I haven’t achieved my dream body, I love it the way it is now and I can’t wait to see where it goes in the future. It’s not about what you look like, but how you feel, and I feel great after working out and taking that time to take care of myself.
3. Books
As you may know from my reading list and book haul posts, I’ve been reading like a maniac recently. Like I said with working out, reading is my escape. And with me overthinking, constantly in my own head, I need that escape. I’ve loved having a book to delve into, and I’m currently two books away from finishing my 15 book goal for the year! I can’t wait to put my reading list together for the New Year!
4. Being an Aunt
I’ve been blessed by the title of aunt for almost three years now, and I have loved every minute of it. It was always so hard leaving for college, not seeing my nephew for who knows how long (of course I missed the rest of my family too, but they just aren’t nearly as cute!). Anyways, being in my hometown for a much longer period than a weekend has made me realize how much I love being with my nephew and just playing with him and loving on him. We just got a new addition to the family this year, and the exact same goes for him. I love those little guys so much! I would do anything for them and I want to spend the rest of my life wanting them to know how much I love and am grateful for them.
5. This Blog
The last thing that I’m thankful for is this blog. I put on the top of my 2019 New Year’s Resolutions that I wanted to start a blog, but I didn’t think that I would actually do it. After going home after graduation, the idea became so prominent in my mind, I knew I just had to go for it. I could use this blog to document my favorite things, as well as post about what’s on my mind with topics that I don’t normally put in my journal. I’m so grateful for this space of the internet that I can post all of the things that relate to my life at certain moments in time. It has become the best creative outlet that I could ever have.
Of course there are so many other things to be grateful for, but these were my top five that I wanted to write about and share today. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving week filled with love and family!
