10-25-20: What I Ate in a Day

As you can see from today’s post, I’m going to be doing a what I eat in a day! I’d say I’m a pretty clean eater for the most part, but today you’ll definitely see that I wasn’t perfect. And to be completely honest, I haven’t been eating the best these past few weeks. Jalapeño cheddar cheese puffs and donuts have just been my weakness recently! This is by far the hardest time of year to stick to clean eating with all the holidays coming up, but we got to treat ourselves every once in a while, right?! I’m trying to get back on track though, and not completely overdo it on the sweets, but it’s hard! Anyways, before I ramble on about all my indulgences, here’s what I ate in a day 🙂

Coffee Coffee Coffee

The first thing that I have to have once I wake up in the morning is a cup of coffee. Starting my day off with coffee, sitting in bed watching YouTube has been my favorite thing this year! I know that after coffee this is where most people will mention what they ate for breakfast, but I’m not a breakfast eater. Coffee and water are basically the only things that I consume in the early morning hours. I listen to my body, and 9 times out of 10 my body just has never wanted to eat breakfast so early. I guess you could say I’m an intermittent faster?

Pre-workout Snack

Around 11 AM to noon is when I’ll starting getting hungry, and on this day I reached for my KIND Breakfast Bar in the Honey Oat flavor. This is what I mentioned in my food essentials, and it has been my go-to snack for a while now! It’s gluten and dairy-free, and is great if I want to get something in my system before I workout.

Post-workout / Lunch

The best time for me to workout is around lunch, so once I’m done with my workout, I have my protein shake. My go-to has still been the Spirulina Chocolate Protein Shake, but today I ended up going for a Matcha Shake. It consisted of Ripple plant milk, a banana, peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, spinach, a little bit of honey and water! It was so delicious, and kept me full for hours!

Afternoon Beverage

In the last week or so, I’ve been implementing drinking more Kombucha in my diet for my gut health. In my most recent reading list, I mentioned I was going to read The Mind-Gut Connection, and it motivated me to start focusing more on my gut health and consuming foods that help with my digestion. I’ve drunk Kombucha in the past, but I definitely want to start implementing it more and eat more fermented foods that support gut health. On this day, I had the Raspberry Hibiscus flavor, and while that was good, my favorites have been the Blueberry Ginger and the Raspberry Lemonade!

Dinner

For dinner, as you can see, this is why I said I eat clean for the most part! We ended up doing take out Chinese from one of our favorite places, New China. Is it the best for you? Probably not. But is it amazing and delicious and totally worth it? YES. As you can see from my plate, I loaded it up with the best. We got sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, chicken lo mein, and an egg roll. Honestly, writing this makes me want to go to the fridge and heat up the leftovers to eat!

Dessert

For dessert, I ended up having a caramel apple, which is healthy for the most part, right? It satisfied my sweet tooth for sure and was a good last treat to have for the night! I tried making it look aesthetically pleasing on the plate, but…didn’t really turn out that way, did it?

And that was all that I ate in a day yesterday. Now you can kinda tell by what I mean that I eat clean for the most part! I also want to mention that I do have 2 to 3 liters of water a day, but I just didn’t think you’d want to see pictures of my water bottle. But anyways, I’m not perfect and don’t try to be, but just take it one day at a time! I love food, and food should be enjoyed, and it’s hard to restrict yourself, especially with the holiday season coming up. Hope you enjoyed today’s post, have a great week!
